Biography

About Andrew

Andrew grew up in London, qualifying as a dentist from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2000. Following a year of working in a Specialist Restorative Practice in Cardiff, he undertook his basic training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.

He continued postgraduate education both in the UK and USA, completing a postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice at the Eastman Dental Institute in London and holds a master’s degree in dental Implantology from the University of Sheffield. He was invited to be a fellow of the Academy of Dentofacial Aesthetics in New York in 2012, and an Associate Fellow of The College of General Dentistry in the UK.

Andrew is a university-accredited expert witness having completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Certificate in 2021, at Cardiff Law School.

Andrew has a keen interest and accepts referrals in Restorative, Cosmetic and Implant dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Andrew has a busy family life.

I have been coming to this dental practice since the 1970’s and have always had brilliant service. They are a private practice and obviously you pay more for your treatment, however, everything I have ever had done has been first class. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and if you need an emergency appointment they always manage to fit you in. I recently had a bite guard from Dr McDonnell and I have to say that it is the best thing I have ever had – yes, it was pricey – but so worth it. I no longer wake up every day with jaw pain and/or a headache. I can highly recommend this practice.

I have been a patient of Kendrick View Dental Practice since January 2016 and I’m still one today! This practice is professional yet warm and staff still remember you over the years. You are also kept up to date on staff changes and recent happenings at the practice with their newsletters, which were particularly useful in the pandemic. I am and will always be eternally grateful to my dentist, Dr McDonnell, for his excellent restorative dentistry work to a tooth I broke in a freak accident a few years ago. I visited most recently to see a dental hygienist to clean my teeth and I usually do this every 6 months. Afterwards, I saw Dr McDonnell to have an updated X-ray of my teeth. Having healthy teeth is always in fashion and for this reason, I would highly recommend the practice to anyone looking for a dentist in Reading for general or more complex dental procedures.

The service provided Kendrick View is always professional and of the highest quality. The dental work I had carried out was painless and quickly completed. I would recommend this practice to anybody.

I discovered this dental practice after my previous implant company ‘finest dental’ went bust , leaving much of the ongoing implant treatment incomplete. So far the service at kendrick view under Andrew McDonald and his assistant Jane, has been consistent with the highest of professional standards and although a small fraction more expensive than other private dentists has actually been much better value. It is fair to say that Andrew has saved my implants, saved me a considerable amount of money and spared me much anxiety. I have also had very professional service at the hands of the hygeinist Sammie and dentist Johann but all delivered in a relaxed and informal atmostphere that has made me feel at home from the start.

Simply the best dentist I have ever had. Since I have been with Andrew my dentist and Julie my hygienist, my teeth have drastically improved.
